Indian Head Massage also known as Champissage dates back thousands of years but was only brought to the Western world in the 1970's by Narendra Mehta. It is a form of healing and relaxation used widely in Asia, mainly by masseurs and hairdressers, to combat daily tension and stress. This form of massage is now one of the most popular therapies available at the moment and has stepped into the world of Talking Feet.

The aim is to clear blocks in energy channels that cause a build-up of negative energy. The belief is that when the energy does not flow properly, negative energy builds up, causing common ailments, including stress, aches and pains to name just a few. Our aim at Talking Feet during an Indian Head Massage is to work on certain muscles in the back, neck, scalp and face bringing about relaxation, improved mobility and rejuvenation. Here are some of the conditions that respond well to Indian Head Massage:

  • Headaches
  • Aches and pains
  • Tension
  • Lack of joint mobility and flexibility

Unlike the circulation of blood through blood vessels, the lymphatic system does not have a pump such as the heart to transport it's fluids effectively around the body. Because of this, fluid retention within the lymph vessels can occur causing lymph oedema and swelling.

This can lead to abnormalities in the cells and tissues . If there are any abnormalities in the tissues, then it is the role of the lymphatic system to transport the damaged cells, inflammatory products and toxins away from the area. The quicker this happens, the faster recovery will be. This is where Talking Feet steps in.

At Talking Feet we offer Lymphatic Drainage, a specialised form of massage. The gentle, flowing, rhythmic massage encourages and stimulates the lymphatic system to drain stagnant fluids, detoxify, regenerate tissues and filter out toxins. Furthermore it encourages and improves lymph drainage in the healthy lymph vessels. The following can respond positively to Lymphatic Drainage:

  • Swollen ankles
  • Swelling relief after plastic surgery
  • Tension
  • Sinustis
  • Arthritis
  • Fluid retention
  • Fatigue
  • Chronic Fatigue Syndrome
  • Stress-related conditions

Lymphatic drainage massage is especially useful for individuals who seem to suffer regularly from common illnesses like colds and flu. In addition, it is recommended for people who lack physical activity or those who want to reduce puffiness or swelling. Furthermore there is a belief that it can also have a positive effect on problem skin, cellulite and people with low energy and sluggishness.

An hour long session of manual Lymphatic Drainage in tranquil surroundings, come on what are you waiting for? Take that important step with Talking Feet into a life of improved well being.

At Talking Feet a rejuvenating classical massage first developed by Peter Henri Ling, a Swedish Psychologist in the eighteenth century, it is a calming, relaxing experience that can promote general well being. Using six techniques throughout an hour long massage, Talking Feet will be able to bring you into total relaxation. At Talking Feet this massage can have effects on many areas of your body such as your skin, circulatory system, muscular system, metabolism to name just a few. It can not only revitalise you, it can decrease the presence of lactic acid in tense muscles, help relieve mental fatigue and promote clear thinking and concentration.

Deep tissue massage focuses on deeper layers of muscles and connective tissue.  It is  especially helpful for chronic, tense areas such as stiff necks, lower back tightness and aching shoulders. Using specific strokes, a deep Tissue massage is both powerful and vigorous to get to the deeper layers of muscle tissue.

In addition to breaking down scar tissue it can help ease stress and tension, which can have a beneficial effect on blood pressure. Deep-tissue massage can help increase the body's production of serotonin, the hormone that promotes happiness and good feelings.
